Bright Fuchsia Sunset Eyes

This super bright and fun look was a creative fart of my brain that came out of purchasing a really inexpensive dupe of the Make Up For Ever Flash palette, which I showed and talked about in my last Haul video, if you missed it.

Electric Blue (Nars Makeup Look)

Is there anything more electrifying when it comes to eye makeup than a popping electric blue? Well, neon yellow maybe, but that's just a tad difficult to pull off! So here's my version of a neon blue look. Does that even exist? Neon blue? Not sure, but I love how this came out! Keep reading to see all the products I used, more pictures, and the step by step tutorial.

90s Makeup: Matte & Brown Tones Revisited

Remember the 90s? Supermodels, iconic Covergirl and Revlon makeup ads, baggy pants, vests, pendant necklaces and some pretty questionable music styles (aside from grunge, which was awesome, RIP Kurt Cobain).

90s makeup, on the other hand, has a pretty terrible reputation nowadays. Drab everything-brown tones, brown lipstick, noticeable lipliner with light lipstick. But there were also some pretty iconic looks, be it from supermodels like Cindy Crawford, or from TV shows like Beverly Hills 90201, Star Trek The Next Generation, etc.

I wanted to revisit the 90s with this look, but also make it slightly updated and wearable for present day. Here's what I came up with!

Glowing Ultra Violet Makeup

I'm horrible at keeping up with my Blog, I admit it. I post videos on my Youtube channel and forget to post the looks here. Make sure you're subscribed to my channel there, as you can also be notified by email when I upload a new video.

Nonetheless, here's a really fun and colorful look I had so much fun coming up with! I used to actually dislike wearing purple eyeshadow back in my early days; now I can't get enough of it. It really brings out brown, green and hazel eyes and is definitely an eye-catching look.

Golden Peacock Eyes

I was rooting around in my makeup studio, pulling out a bunch of fun colors, glitter, lashes and the like, and decided to throw together this look.

Kim Kardashian Vogue Cover Makeup

Regardless of what you might think of Kim Kardashian's career, her antics, her looks...one thing can't be refuted: Her makeup on her recent controversial Vogue Covershoot was the bomb.com!!

  • What do you think of Kim and Kanye appearing on the cover of Vogue?? Do you think she "deserved" it? Did you like the cover, or will you be cancelling your subscription like Sarah Michelle Gellar?
    • My Thoughts: I honestly don't really care! It's completely irrelevant to my life who is on the cover of a fashion magazine. As long as people are interested in Kim and her life, she will be famous and probably gracing more magazine covers.

Above I've taken a screenshot of the accompanying video from the photoshoot that Vogue posted on their Youtube channel. I changed my eye color to match Kim's, so you can see how similar the look is. When I first saw pictures of Kim's look, I thought it was actually really, really dark. In truth it's more of a medium brown and bronzey smokey eye, with some gold highlighting.

This would be a really perfect bridal makeup if you're looking for something a bit more dramatic than just natural tones. I tried on my own wedding dress after filming this look, with my hair up like this and the jewelry, and I loved it! I might wear something like this on my own wedding day next February.

Mila Kunis Makeup Tutorial

Mila Kunis' makeup is one of the my most highly requested looks, and I finally got around to filming it. Mila has very large, "bedroom" eyes, so that's the feature her makeup artists usually emphasize. Because her eyes are so large, she can really get away with wearing a lot of dark colors, and black eyeliner that rims her entire lid. On smaller eyes - like my own - this technique can often make them look smaller, so when I apply dark makeup, I often apply a light color on my waterline to offset that. In this instance, however, there was no way to do Mila Kunis' look justice without doing the intense black liner she almost always wears.

Here is my take on Mila Kunis' makeup. What do you think of it? Where would you wear this to? Let me know in the comments!

My makeup tutorial for this look, or watch it directly on Youtube.

Dramatic Arab Eyes Makeup

Eid al-Fitr (the feast that marks the end of the Ramadan fast) is coming up for many of my Muslim followers, and the occasion inspired me to come up with a new Arab makeup look. Maybe it's a bit too strong for some of you to actually wear on Eid, but I wanted to use really bright, fun colors. It was sort of inspired by my scarf too - it's a really inexpensive but great find from H&M!

Want to see how I did this look? Then watch my makeup tutorial below, or here's the link for Youtube.

Tutorial: Brigitte Bardot

A long while ago I made a Brigitte Bardot video, and I've always wanted to revisit it because Bardot's iconic look is one of my favorites! She exudes a sexy, feminine confidence without it being too contrived. It probably helps that she was an absolute stunner in her youth! She was one of the few European film actresses of her time to garner worldwide fame, not only for her acting but also due to her ravishing beauty.

What made her makeup look so flattering is that she wore mostly warm-toned neutral colors, and played up her natural features very perfectly. Darkly lined eyes, full lashes, and a sensuous, pouty mouth were her trademarks. This look continues to be an inspiration for many celebrities today - when you think about Adele or Lana Del Rey, they definitely channel some of Bardot's earlier style.

Here is how I translated Bardot's look...

If you want to recreate this iconic look, make sure to check out my Youtube tutorial below, or watch directly on Youtube here.

Tutorial: Lemon-Lime

This look just screams summer to me! The bright colors of lemons and limes are what inspired the eye makeup, as I'm a huge fan of yellow in general, and lime green is the perfect partner to it. Sometimes it can be difficult to make yellow eyeshadow look flattering, but I think this just works . Combine the eyes with a peach coloured lipstick and you're ready to hit the next summer party in style!

Watch my tutorial to see how I created this look, or watch it on Youtube here.

Face
L'Oreal Visible Lift foundation, Body Shop Honey Bronze bronzer Nr. 1, Afterglow Cosmetics blush in Tickle

Tutorial: Gothic Elegance

I haven't done a gothic and alternative makeup look in a while, and I wanted to come up with something dramatic that would fit the bill, but still keep it looking feminine and glamorous. I thought this version of a gothic look is not only pretty darn wearable, it's also quite fashion forward! I would definitely rock this on a night out, maybe to a trendy club or to a rock concert.

The blue colours give it that alternative, less-than-mainstream look, but the soft touches on the eye keep things in focus and don't make you look like you just rose from the dead. ;)

Here's the tutorial how I created this look, which you can also view on Youtube here.

Face & Cheeks
Smashbox 15 Hour Wear foundation , Estee Lauder Shimmering Powder in Light Snow (LE), Illamasqua Chased blush

Eyes
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk, Sleek MakeUP Ultra Matte Version 2 eyeshadow palette, MAC Blacktrack Fluidline gel eyeliner, Kryolan mascara, Elite Lashes Nr. 19 (from CVS), Revlon Precision lash adhesive

Lips
Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner in Indigo Ink, Illamasqua Disciple lipstick, Sleek MakeUP Pout Paint in Peek-A-Bloo

Nails
China Glaze Tinseltown

Tutorial: Blue Smoke

I posted a video a while ago called Makeup Nightmares, where I showed everything you could possibly and definitely do wrong when applying makeup. If you missed that video, you can check it out here (link). Let me just briefly refresh your memory...

Ugh, yeaaaahhhhh um no. That look is simply not attractive on anyone. I decided to give this "look" - if you can call it that - another go, using a lot of the same products if possible, and apply the makeup in a way that is much more flattering and attractive.

Watch my tutorial with lots of tips on how to improve your application technique in general, and how to recreate this look on yourself! You can click here, or watch on Youtube:

Here's the lowdown of everything I showed in the video.
