Since so many of you requested a hair tutorial on the fauxhawk hairstyle I had going on in my Illamasqua video, I decided to recreate that look for you all! I love doing this hair when going out to a concert or to the club. Hope you enjoy, and let me know if you try it out.
Luv it!

I love the first picture! You look like you were channeling Billy Idol!
ReplyDeleteI liked it a lot, it's a shame I've got quite short hair and can't recreate this look :( But I am gonna try once my hair grow out!

ReplyDeleteLove the hair, it looks great!
ReplyDeletethis is fab Julia! Thanks for the tutorial
ReplyDeletethis is hot!! thanks for the tutorial!
ReplyDeleteYou can do this with pretty short hair guys! I had really short hair, like 6-8 cm on the head, and then longer in the back, and I just combed it on the sides like julia did and then I used pins to make the hair stay and lots of hairspray ofc. Then I just did like she did on the top, and the mohawk looks really cool if your hair is short and you can get that straight up, but curved back and a bit spiky look^^ Play with your hair and, dont think it has to be long, cos it works as long as you can get the sides to lay slick. Good luck guys!
ReplyDeletei love this!
ReplyDeleteI love this video. Cant wait to have a play around this weekend and have a go with it!
ReplyDeleteLove this look. In cosmetology school I used to do this on my mannq. all the time and my teachers hated it lol. I'm so glad someone appreciates this style as much as I do, plus it looks fierce on you! Great tut!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial! Am trying this hairstyle tonight, so cool - and after seeing this I will hopefully be able to do it.
ReplyDeleteAnd you have a great blog :-)
I paid something like 60$ to get my hair done like this for a show not too long ago. My hair is shorter now, and I LOVE that I can try this on my own :)
ReplyDeleteWow, gorgeous, thanks so much! Could I please ask what lipstick and nail polish you are wearing in this picture?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I actually have fairly short hair... but too long to do a traditional fauxhawk. Your tutorial helped me figure out how to make it work for me. And it was a total hit!! :)
ReplyDeleteI will absolutely try this TODAY. love it! It's actually really cool how you're wearing a pearl-y necklace with the hair.. it's kind of housewife chic with a hardcore badass twist.. keep that kind of stuff coming!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the instructions!! GREAT!
ReplyDeleteRockGirl from Finland :)

ReplyDeletegonna be rocking this hair for halloween! :D

ReplyDeleteI love this! I'm going to try this for m next gig!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'll try it out. Now I can do something with my long hair. Thanks.
ReplyDeletewill this work on longer hair? my hair is about midlength down my back and the shortest layers come to my mid neck. is there any way i can tease it but not have it stick completely straight up? So i have that volume that the fohawk gave but i can actually get into door ways XD
ReplyDeleteAwesome Love it and you too! :p
