Great drugstore lipstick find for Fall! Nivea Beaute

Contrary to popular belief, I do like to browse through and make the occasional purchase from the drugstore or pharmacy. The only products I absolutely do not buy at drugstores are eyeshadows, but I always have a peek at what else has come out from the more budget lines. Recently I was browsing and the Nivea Beaute line had a fall line out called their "Paris" collection. Although Nivea body lotions and some cosmetic products are available worldwide, I believe their makeup line is only available in Europe.

I was instantly drawn to this blackberry plum shade, even though it seemed to be the least popular one of the few colours they had available with this collection, judging by the stock. (Leave it me to me to go for the less popular and slightly less "everyday wearable" shades!)

This is Nivea Beaute Colour Passion lipstick in Nr. 86 Bedtime Plum.

The colour is slightly more cool toned than on these pics, the swatch on the lips is probably most colour accurate. The pigmentation is very rich, the lipstick is creamy and moisturizing without being thin and slippery. Overall I have to say this is a fabulous colour for fall and so on trend with the fall collections where berry toned lips are a highlight.

If you're not sure how to wear a lipstick like this, I showed how to pair such a color with a pretty fall inspired eye look. Click here to check out that video in case you missed it. Of course you could also just wear this with some dramatic winged liner, mascara, some blush and call it a day. I frequently do this when I'm lazy with my makeup but still want to look a bit "done up".

Speaking of drugstore products - has anyone tried that new vibrating mascara that I believe Maybelline just recently released? I hope that becomes available here, I have a hankering for testing out gimmicky products and reviewing them on my blog.

  2. Well considering that this is only made in Europe, I believe that there is a wet and wild color that seems to be a duplicate of that. I will post with the color name and numeration once I get home. And the best part of it all is that it is only 99 cents!!! Beautiful color for the fall and even winter.

If you can't find the maybelline mascara, there's one by Lancôme called Ôscillation. Actually, the Lancôme mascara was the first one to be released, but as you may know, sometimes lower-end brands copy higher-end products (like Givenchy's phenomen eyes and Lòreal telescopic explosion). I hope you get either of those vibrating mascaras and do a review on it!. BTW, amazing lipstick!

This is such a perfect shade! I wish Nivea makeup line was available here in the Czech Republic.

  6. I have the maybelline vibrating mascara you are talking about. I won 3 tubes of it. But it is a good mascara. It does a good job for lengthening and seperating, for me at least. I have short stubby lashes, and the mascara makes them more visible.

my mom bought the maybelline vibrating mascara. I tried it and I dont like it. I had some clumps and it didnt really separated my eyelashes that well. I think the lash blast is way better.
    much love <3

That colour looks amazing. I don't think I've seen any Nivea make up over here in the UK. Will have to go on a googling hunt to track it down as this looks stunning.
I alos want to know about the vibrating mascara. Is there any difference or just a gimmicky sale pitch.

Such a pretty color, I love berry lipstick! Too bad the lipstick-selection of this collection in Vienna is not the same! I wonder why...

  14. The color is great, and I can see why you were drawn to it.

I'm very fair as you are. In fact, we use the same foundation shade for Revlon ColorStay, and I'm a huge fan of the SK200 Total Cover All Wheel II by Ben Nye. But, I seem to find lipstick extremely daunting.

I have pretty pigmented lips naturally, which is why lipstick has never really done it for me. I was always a lipgloss girl. As I get older, I shy from lipgloss and have been leaning toward high quality lipsticks. I have trouble finding a lip concealer that pales my lips enough for colors to show without being influenced by my natural lip color. The lip "concealers" I have found, make my lips look chalky and cakey, even if I apply chapstick beforehand.

I find the pinks to be the most daunting. I always feel that as pale as I am, pinks wash me out.

Do you have these problems, and do you have any recommendations for me? I'm just so afraid of lipstick!

  16. Well not for al Europe! Spain is part of Europe too (seems people forget it) and here we have not Nivea Beauty line...just body lotions and face line

  17. I think that Maybelline mascara is a good formula and great brush for separating. It's a good formula for lengthening. My problem with the oscillating part is that you have to hold down a sort of tab at the very top of the cap to get it to oscillate. It's really awkward to hold the wand at the top. It doesn't allow for a lot of control, so I ended up getting too much mascara on my lashes (clumps). Without the oscillation, though, it's really good.

  18. Beautiful colour, and yes Nivea makeup is not available in Canada. And I do thing Wet n' Wild has a dupe for that colour- 99 cents!

  19. I just commented on your Facebook page too - I just absolutely love this color!!! Although I am not sure if I can find this in my drugstore. I did find a MAC dupe for the Viva Glam VI Special Edition, though so I was super excited about that, lol. I thought the Maybeline Color Sensational in Plaza Pink looked exactly like Viva Glam VI Special Edition. Love all your videos! Your Pantomime vid is a new fave!!! ~Janice

  21. I've been considering buying those!

  22. I wish we could get that in Canada! I just picked up a tube of Maybelline Colorsensational in Plum perfect after viewing this and your berry lip tut and I REALLY like the forumula and coverage. It will be my berry fall lipstic!

BTW I refuse to buy the vibrating mascara. I'm not paying 18 bucks for a drugstore mascara, I'll just wiggle the conventional way
