World Cities: Moscow

I'm back to making videos after a break (I got really sick for about a week and lost my voice, then I just got really busy and my mom visited for a few days.) This look is part of my World City Looks series, this time inspired by Moscow. At first I wanted to do something colorful inspired by the Red Square, but the more I thought about it, the more I was intrigued by the concept of long and cold Russian winter nights, stomping through the snow, fur hats and Dr. Zhivago. I decided to go for an intense, smoldering navy blue eye, and to not make it look gothic, paired it with juicy looking stained lips and in-from-the-cold cheeks.

Drag Showgirl Makeup: Las Vegas World Cities series

Can I say that this is my favorite of the World Cities looks I've done without sounding like I'm tooting my own horn? VEGAS BABY!!! Think showgirls and drag performers, that's what inspired this look. Drag makeup can be seen as an over-exaggeration of feminine makeup. Many drag performers go even further with the contouring than I've done here, and cover their natural eyebrows and pencil them in even higher to give more lid space for the makeup. I decided not to cover my brows here, but it's an option of what you could do.

World Cities: Cairo

I was inspired to do a look based on Cairo, Egypt for my World Cities mini-series on Youtube, even before the Revolution that took place there. I was mainly inspired by the archeological sites that Cairo is so famous for, the pyramids and the sphynx, and the golden desert surrounding the area. I wanted to reflect these golden and brown colors of the desert in the eye makeup, and focus on an elongated eyeliner shape, typical for Arab makeup looks. Some Arab women like to wear dramatic looks like these to the elaborate wedding celebrations typical of their culture.

World Cities: Paris

Paris is often described to be the City of Love; having visited Paris three times myself I can definitely attest that it is indeed a very romantic city. But in addition to that, it also boasts great nightlife, thriving markets, a multi-cultural community, plenty of art and culture, a wonderful street cafe culture, wonderful restaurants, high fashion, and much more. This look is an ode to one of my favorite cities in Europe!

World Cities: London (new mini-series!)

I'm starting a new mini-series of themed looks on my Youtube channel, inspired by famous cities from around the world! I was itching to do something new after the slew of Christmas and New Year's looks, and first up is LONDON! One of my favorite cities for shopping and clubbing and just hanging out in. I was inspired the edginess and modern culture of London, and also by the cloudy gray skies that seem to be omnipresent there (haha!)

I have already filmed 2 more videos in this series, but please feel free to leave your requests for famous world cities either in the comments below, or on the video on Youtube! Thanks for watching :)
