Here's my nail design tutorial inspired by upcoming Valentine's Day. Although, I think you could really wear this anytime, it's so cute! Watch my video below for the tutorial:
These snowflake nails are perfect for winter and the holiday season. I love snow, and wanted to do a wintery, icy cold blue design for the nails, so I thought this was both festive and appropriate for the season. It's also a very simple design, that even a beginner nail artist could accomplish. You only need a few things! Here's my tutorial...
Products I used:
Models Own Feeling Blue
Essence Fashion Victim
L.A. Colors Art Deco in White
ANNY clear polish
rhinestone nail wheel (from ebay)

Want to wear a patriotic and fun USA inspired manicure on Election night? Try this one on for size. I got inspired by the American Flag, but added a ballot box on the thumb to pay homage to the election. Whether you're voting for Romney, Obama, or someone else - this nail art is sure to fit the bill.

This nail design is perfect when you want your nails to look understated, but not completely unnoticeable. The glitter is neutral colors is a great way to add some sparkle to a nude nail, and you can really play around with this in various colors. I've also tried it with a nude peach color, or a pale pink, and it also looked very pretty. I think these nails would be perfect for prom, a wedding, or any other glam event.
Here's how I did it step by step:
Products
Essence Modern Romance
CND Effects Raspberry Sparkle
Essence nail polish correcting pen
Seche Vite topcoat LitCosmetics Champagne Wishes glitter
random cosmetic glitter from ebay
I just love fancy nails at Christmas time, and nothing screams Christmas to me like deep red and gold. I decided to create these sparkly glittery nails, which I think are perfect for the holidays. When I had this on my nails, even my boyfriend commented how Christmasy it looked, and you know how men are about noticing things like nails!

Spring is in the air and when I think of spring, I think of trees and flowers blossoming - one of those being cherry trees! When I lived in Vancouver, the area around where I lived had lots of cherry trees planted in the streets, and I have vivid memories biking around and having a "rain shower" of blossoms falling down with a bit of wind. So pretty!
Anyway, here's my cherry blossom inspired nail design. You can vary the background color with anything you like, but I think the turquoise-blue-green color goes really well and reminds me of a sky background.
Nailpolish used:
Essie Mint Candy Apple (blue)
Essence Fatal (black)
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White (white)
Essie Van D'Go (pink)
At times like these with the devastating events in Japan, it seems so trivial to focus on things like makeup. Many of us live far away from the disaster, but please think of the thousands of people whose lives will be affected for years to come. Those of us who live in comfort and safety cannot fathom what the Japanese people must be going through right now. If you could make even a small donation, or a generous one, to the Japanese Red Cross Society, that would be a wonderful thing to do. Even if you just donate a small amount, what you would otherwise spend on an eyeshadow or a lipstick!
While it's all well and good to donate to your local chapter of the Red Cross, sending your donations to the Japanese Red Cross will have the most direct impact for tsunami relief efforts, as they are bearing the brunt of the disaster response.
Another nail design I came up with for Halloween, this time featuring a black widow spider and cobweb design. I thought this would be very fitting for the occasion.
Nailpolish: Eyeko Vampira (base) Essence White Tip Painter (fangs) Eyeko Saucy (blood) Seche Vite Topcoat
These nails are so perfect for Halloween! They would also go well if you're dressing up as a vampire. They feature fangs on a glittery black and red background, dripping in blood of course. If you want to see my Halloween Vampire makeup tutorial from 2 years ago, click here to watch that as well.
These nails were inspired by one of my favorite nail blogs, The Daily Nail, and show an Alfred Hitchcock design from his famous 1963 movie "The Birds". You know that creepy scene where the kids are running out of the schoolyard and the black crows attack? Yeah, these nails kind of remind me of that scene.
And since some people may not be familiar with Hitchcock's films this is the profile image which is often seen during the credits.
I hope you enjoy it and try out this nail design. All you need is white and black polish, some brushes, and some time on your hands...literally!
This nail tutorial will show you how to achieve a gradient nail using a sponging technique. For this looks I've chosen to go from a light blue, to a medium purple, and finally to a dark blue with glitter overlay. This is the first gradient nails I've ever done, so I swear to you even a beginner can achieve this! You don't need to use as many different polish colors as I have, but it makes the gradient effect look even cooler.
Nailpolish used:
Illamasqua Caress
Illamasqua Jo'Mina
China Glaze Grape Juice
Maybelline Blue Sapphire
Zoya Kotori
Essence Clyde
Seche Vite topcoat
This is the first nail design I've ever done and I know it's not perfect, but I think it would be really fun for St. Patrick's Day! Somehow this is looking a lot cooler in real life than on this picture. I hope you enjoy it. What are your plans for St. Patrick's Day this year? Do you celebrate it?
When I lived in Montreal I always saw the big Paddy's Day parade, then drunk the night away in an Irish brew pup with friends, swilling green beer and listening to Irish folk music. Ah, the memories of my student days!
Nailpolish I used:
Illamasqua Smash, Illamasqua Rampage, Misa Green With Envy, Essence white tip painter, Seche Vite topcoat
