This nail tutorial will show you how to achieve a gradient nail using a sponging technique. For this looks I've chosen to go from a light blue, to a medium purple, and finally to a dark blue with glitter overlay. This is the first gradient nails I've ever done, so I swear to you even a beginner can achieve this! You don't need to use as many different polish colors as I have, but it makes the gradient effect look even cooler.
Nailpolish used:
Illamasqua Caress
Illamasqua Jo'Mina
China Glaze Grape Juice
Maybelline Blue Sapphire
Zoya Kotori
Essence Clyde
Seche Vite topcoat

I LOVE it! Def going to try it out sometime!
ReplyDeleteyou can also use a kitchen sponge, it has the same purpose :)
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteThis is just excellent, as all your videos are. Couple questions though; how much time did you let elapse before putting on the next coat of polish? Did you wait until each coat had dried fully? Also, did you use two coats of polish for your base colour? Can't wait to try this!
I just did 5 nails at a time, so by the time I finished one hand, I would move on to the next color. I used 2 coats for the base manicure, and let that dry completely before starting the sponging.
ReplyDeleteThis is just so art like. I love the look!
