Essence In The Jungle

What's currently on my nails? Essence "In the Jungle" toe nail polish. Essence has released a few polishes marketed directly for toe nails, why I'm not really sure. Personally I prefer this one on my fingernails. The color reminds me somewhat of OPI Jade is the New Black, it's a medium to dark jade green with blue undertones, with a cream finish. I really like this, it "glows" a bit more in real life. What I also love about this polish is the wide brush. Unlike the finger nail polishes by Essence, the toe nail polishes come with a brush not unlike the OPI pro-wide, which is my favorite for application. This polish was opaque in 2 coats and applied very smoothly.

In other news, my balcony herb garden is thriving fabulously! I only have one container so far with coriander (cilantro), flat leaf parsley, and chives. I'll have to get another container for basil, mint, rosemary, and maybe a second coriander, I inhale that stuff!

By the way, I'm back from Italy and my trip was fab. I vlogged a lot and am uploading a 3-part video series on my roadtrip through Piemonte on my second channel so you can check it out there. Hope you all have a great weekend!

I adore herb gardens- my mum grows one and they are more low maintenance and prettier then vegetables, plus they smell really nice. Your herb garden looks lovely!

Ich warte schon die ganze Zeit, dass die neuen Essence Lacke bei uns endlich mal in die Drogerien kommen - Österreich is da immer soooo langsam :-/

I'd advice getting a separate pot for the mint... grows like a mutha fucker! I find basil doesn't grow for me outside, I keep it on my kitchen window inside. It feels great to use your own fresh herbs in cooking doesn't it?!

  5. I don't like cilantro, but I love parsley!
I have on 5 different nail polishes. I decided to show off my spring spirit by painting each nail a different colour.

  7. Nice herb garden! I love having fresh mint and rosemary at the ready.
At the moment I've got the OPI special edition Alice in wonderland colour on - super sparkly aqua with gold specks in in. Needed HEAPS of topcoat - its like putting liquid glitter directly onto your nails!

Cilantro is my favorite herb, hands down. When you grow it fresh, everything tastes wonderful. I've even added it to a roasted beef soup with a red wine base--it tasted very yummy.

As for my nails, they're naked, although I've been wanting to paint them. I just bought the OPI by Sephora Go With The Flow-er polish from their Spring Wildflower collection. So pretty! The shimmering is what made me buy it.

  15. I'm wearing OPI's Absolutely Alice.

Cilantro is one of those herbs you either love or hate. I really dislike cilantro but I love parsley (I use it ALL the time). If only I could grow a plant. I kill everything...except decorative bamboo for some reason.

  18. Your nails are fabulous as usual. :) Love the herb garden too. Maybe I will do one this year. I'm wearing CG Rich and Famous with CG Preppy Pink. Something interesting I found wearing the glitter polishes over my polish, they don't ever chip! I can wear them for days even wash dishes and they don't chip or wear off. I just put a light coating of the glitter so you can tell it's there but it's not too crazy glittery. I don't even put a top coat over it. That glitter polish is TOUGH! :)

On my fingers, one coat of OPI Magala Wine and one coat of Milani Red Jewels on top, it makes a nice deep glittery red. On my toes, OPI You Don't Know Jaques.

I have a few polish favs right now. I like the sally hansen new all in one polish, my fave color is a plum called "commander in chic", I also am lovin the Milani hologram polishes. I have the pink one and the silver one....sorry don't remember the names. These are great because the glitter seems to move around on the dried polish...freaky.

I have an orly green that reminds me of this green you are wearing....once again, don't remember the name..duh.

    love your blog and vids,

    Lisa

Love your garden. There's a herb called "oregano" that you definitively must have, it's a great companion for greek recepies and salad dressings. Smells beautifuly!

I'm currently wearing China Glaze Temptation Carnation. I really like it although I usually
    wear darker colors.

  30. these toe nail polishes are made to be opaque with only one layer and the wide brush should help with quick and easy application (so you don't have to bend too many times).
the formula claims to be anti-bacterial too, which i cannot proof. but i like them to be very opaque and they have many nice and vibrant colours that look really good on your toes.

  31. I have 2 coats of NYX girls hot blue from the new collection, a coat of blue shimmer from claire's and a couple of coats of aqua glitters (NYX girls again!) + top coat. Results looks even better than O.P.I. Absolutely Alice ! (which I was sad not to find in my area...)

I would agree with what other people have already mentioned, mint goes crazy depending which type you have and it will proper take over your baskets so I'd also recommend using a separate pot for tht one ! :) x
