World Cities: London (new mini-series!)

I'm starting a new mini-series of themed looks on my Youtube channel, inspired by famous cities from around the world! I was itching to do something new after the slew of Christmas and New Year's looks, and first up is LONDON! One of my favorite cities for shopping and clubbing and just hanging out in. I was inspired the edginess and modern culture of London, and also by the cloudy gray skies that seem to be omnipresent there (haha!)

I have already filmed 2 more videos in this series, but please feel free to leave your requests for famous world cities either in the comments below, or on the video on Youtube! Thanks for watching :)

  1. Absolutely gorgeous. I saw this and instantly thought of the night life and the cloudy skies before I even read your entry! I'm excited to see your two other looks. Hm, if I could be so bold as to make a request, I'd ask you to do...Dubai, which is my home lol :) Have a great one! x NTA @ blogspot.com

LOVE THIS LOOK! I would love a 1) Barcelona inspired look with a focus on Gaudi and 2) one that combines the mystery of old Shanghai with the edgy, fashion-forward modern Shanghai.

  12. This look is so so gorgeous, and I think it fits the inspiration very well. Can you please do Moscow, Russia? You could get inspiration from Red Square, the music, or matryoshkas dolls (russianlegacy (dot) com is a great place to find matryoshkas! and they have lots of pictures)

  17. Julia,

Can you tell me a dupe for Barry M glitter? I've ordered BM make up from ebay before abd it's very reasonably priced but getting it from GB and paying for shipping, it's not worth it.

Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Love your work...you are very inspiring. I have been wearing all this dramatic make up since I ran into one of your videos and I LOVE IT

Future looks that would be awesome, would be Rio DeJaneiro, my lovely New York and where wold we go without Arabic allure of Casablanca, Dubai or Beirut...
    XOXO

  21. Hi Julia!
gorgeous look! I still have a problem getting the angles of the tape on my face right but I'll get it down soon! :)

As a suggestion for famous cities.... this one isn't really a specific city, but the amazon is a beautiful place full of inspiration. The native tribes there have the most amazing styles of face painting.

Also.... Kyrgyzstan is a really cool place. They culture there is a really cool mixture because of influences from both russia and china. :)

Hi Julia! I love your look! Très réussi!
I'm trying ti find the Barry M glitter, n21, do you have another reference for this product, like dark green or opal...?
    Thanks

I love this look! When I first saw it I though it was a New York look (don't know why ^^) but finally London matches well.
It would be so cool if you could do a "Tokyo look" ;) Thank you for all your videos!!

  33. This look is so gorgeous! Love the green in it too! It makes it very interesting!

  34. I found a website that ships Barry M to the US, for those of you interested and it's called www.langtoninfo.com
It's a website that sells mainly books but if you search Barry M, you will find tons of products.
I am not sure whether the prices are good but I ordered 3 glitter dusts and they came to $11 each including shipping.

You just gave me the idea of visiting London to judge by myself ! Awesome makeup!
I definitely vote for Barcelona (Gaudi, Miro...)but Andalusia cities like Seville or Cordoba are nice too. Stockholm and Firenze are definitely making the top 5 of Best European cities.
Tokyo and Istanbul ought to be exiting too but I'd love to see a look inspired by a warm island city like Kingstone in Jamaïca or Honolulu in Hawaï or any town in St Barth, the VIP's island ;)

  52. I think you should do a look on Athens, Greece... They could use some support right now :/ Inspiration? the colors of the mediterranean, ancient art/ ruins, ancient goddesses (i.e. aphrodite) . An Amsterdam look might be pretty cool also. Also, India has always intrigued me with their colors and unique art....esp. in their traditional dancing. Perhaps a look on Mumbai, Calcutta, or Dehli

Love the look! Too bad MAC products are insanely expensive. :( I can't justify paying 50 plus dollars for just one. I feel like this is the current trend of every youtube make tutorial of just using products from very high-end places whereas there are cheaper alternatives can do the same job. Am I missing something here?

  64. I looove this look! Beautiful! My colorful looks are not this bold, but I did appreciate what you said about not having to do a nude lip. I just am drawn to color-even on my lips. My mom gets on my case all the time about that, so I was glad to be encouraged to do it my way=) I've watched a couple of these videos now & am really enjoying them. I can't wait to get some new makeup so that I can try some of them out.
