Butterfly Fairy Makeup

I think this may be one of my favorite looks I've ever done! When I was at the craft store - a wonderful supply store for Halloween makeup videos - I saw these pretty butterflies meant for home decor, and I thought how great they would look incorporated into a makeup look!

Scary Vampire for Halloween

To kick off my Halloween makeup transformations this year I wanted to try a new Vampire look. Some of you might remember my first Vampire makeup from several years ago, which is now my most viewed video to date on Youtube. How awesome! Instead of doing the more typical red and black color combination for this one, however, I wanted to focus mostly on cool blues. I gave this look a different spin with the stylized veins creeping down from the eyes, and the witch-like razor sharp matte black claw nails. Halloween Series: Marie Antoinette

Here it is, my personal "crowning glory" of this year's Halloween videos. I give you Marie Antoinette, post-beheading with a re-attached head in the Afterlife!!

When I began to develop the concept for this video, I knew I wanted to do a different spin on Marie Antoinette than many looks out there for this historical figure. I didn't want to go down that stylized, over-the-top cartoonish look popularized through movies; rather, I still wanted an element of realness to the former Queen of France.

Halloween Series: Black Widow / Victorian Ghost

I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but I absolutely love this look so much! Looooove! Can I please walk around like this every day and it be totally normal? There's something so chic about alabaster skin, dark makeup, and a veil. I definitely need to get some kind of a fascinator veiled hat pronto, because I totally want to wear this in real life. Hah!

Halloween Series: The Sorceress (Purple Witch)

I had so much fun creating this Evil Sorceress look for my Halloween video series. I've had many requests to do a purple witch look (I did a green sexy witch look years ago which you can see here) and I wanted to turn this one into a sorceress. What's the difference, you say? Well, I always thought Sorceresses were more high class than witches, but what do I know? LOL!!

Watch my video tutorial below to see how to recreate this look, and how it looks with my full costume. I have a 20% off coupon code for you if you're still shopping around for a Halloween costume online, woo yay! I hope you enjoy this one - what are you dressing up as this year?

Halloween Series: Ripped & Stapled Mouth

Halloween isn't all about looking cute and sexy, some people prefer the darker and scarier looks, so here's an especially gruesome one: The Chelsea Grin! This is a form of torture where a small incision is made on the side of the mouth, then the victim is inflicted severe pain, causing him or her to scream, tearing the sides of the mouth. Fantastic!!

Kidding, obviously.

I modified the classic chelsea grin to make it look like the sides of the ripped mouth has been stapled up again.

This is my first time trying a full blown special effects makeup look. I did a trial run to get some practice with the materials, but obviously I'm not perfect at it yet. I made a few errors here which I'll correct for my next SFX look I'm planning. I'm just excited to do more of these looks and improve my technique. We all have to start somewhere! I always found special FX makeup super intimidating, but I think just like regular makeup, you just need the right tools and products, and then practice, practice, practice... It was so much fun to do a really bloody and gory Halloween look!

Halloween Series: Poison Ivy

It's Halloween season on my channel, and I am so excited to kick things off with my first look, this time I'm doing DC Comics super villainess POISON IVY! She's green and mean, and this costume will definitely be a head-turner in a crowd!

I had so much fun doing Poison Ivy's look, and this look has been so frequently requested over the years that I knew it was time to finally do it.

I hope you love this look! Do you know what you're dressing up as this Halloween?

Disney Maleficent Angelina Jolie inspired Makeup

So I admit I am not a die hard fan of Disney (as in I have to immediately see every new film they release), but the upcoming Maleficent movie definitely caught my eye! I think for one because Angelina Jolie stars as the leading villainess, and two, because it's so different from most Disney movies. Some movie critics think it will absolutely tank at the box office because it's "too scary" for most Disney fans, which actually makes me want to see it! The trailers look so beautiful, and they inspired me to come up with this Maleficent look.

Now, Angelina wears prosthetics on her face and I think the movie has been quite altered in post production to have a certain dark and almost cool toned feel to it, but I just went off the trailer and screenshots I've seen floating around the Internet. I also decided to give this look my own personal spin for a super gothic Maleficent rendition.

I'm wearing black feather wings in these pictures because in the trailer, it is revealed that Maleficent had a past where she was actually some sort of fairy, and her black wings were actually stolen from her. Exciting! I'm not crafty enough to make my own horns, sadly, so the wings will have to suffice.

Will you be seeing this movie when it comes out? Let me know in the comments!

Broken Hearted Valentine Makeup

Hi everybody! For Valentine's Day this year I wanted to do an off the wall look, because I just felt like there were so many traditional date-night looks floating around already. So instead of just adding another one to the heap, I wanted to show you something quite artistic and fun. The inspiration behind this is a "Broken Hearted Lover". I hope none of you had a broken heart on Valentine's Day! Here's what I came up with...

Keep reading to see how I created this makeup with my video tutorial below, and find all the products I used.

Harley Quinn Halloween Makeup

Here's my interpretation of a Harley Quinn look for Halloween. This is based off a design I saw on Tumblr, the original artist is named Luciferismydad. It's a more artistic version than the plain ol' black mask, which is kind of boring, in my opinion. See my tutorial how I pulled this off, or watch it directly on Youtube.

Here's all the products I used:

MAC Airbrush foundation in White, L'Oreal Magic Lumi foundation, L'Oreal Infallible Super Slim eyeliner in black, Maybelline Color Tattoos in Timeless Black and Pomegranate Punk, Ben Nye Cherry Red e/s, Illamasqua Obsidian e/s, Kryolan e/s in burgundy color, Ben Nye Toast e/s, Sleek MakeUp Russian Blue eyelashes #233, Manhattan Xtreme Last Lipliner 44N, Illamasque Pure Pigment in Berber, L'Oreal Infallible gel eyeliner

I hope you try out this look and let me know how you like it!

Masquerade Makeup

This is a fun design you can wear to your next Masked Ball party, or for Halloween! It's very effective and eye-catching, but make sure to allot enough time to pull this off. It isn't something you can pull off in 5 minutes, but the special effort will surely be worth it! ;)

Watch my video tutorial to see how I did this look, or watch directly on Youtube:

Here's a list of all the products I used:

L'Oreal Visible Lift foundation, 120 eyeshadow palette from ebay, Bella Pierre eyeshadow base, Maybelline white eyeliner, MUA eyeshadow #9, Lancome Le Crayon Kohl in Noir, Illamasqua eyeshadow in Obsidian, MAC Blacktrack Fluidliner, Latissé false lashes, OCC Lip Tars in Hoochie, Yaoi and Rx, cosmetic grade glitters from Kryolan and OCC, rhinestones from a craft store, Illamasqua Precision Ink in Alchemy, Kryolan false lashes

The Walking Dead ZOMBIE Makeup

Like this? Pin it on Pinterest!

Stop!!! It's ZOMBIE TIME!!!

In my over 30 Halloween videos that I've made to date, I've never done a zombie! It was time to change that, and I took inspiration from the TV show "The Walking Dead" here. I wanted to create a zombie without all the expensive, technical and time consuming special effects with open wounds and peeling off skin, since most of my viewers probably won't be able to recreate this type of stuff anyway. Plus, special effects ingredients can be really hard to find, and are expensive! So for this you will only need 2, maybe 3 special things which aren't too expensive and easy to find at Halloween or costume stores now.

Watch my step-by-step video to see how I made this look! Or, watch directly on Youtube.

Products used:

White Clown cream facepaint, Kryolan Rainbow Circle "Black Eyes" Body Makeup, Kryolan eyeshadow in a burgundy color, Illamasqua Obsidian eyeshadow, Ben Nye Gray eyeshadow, Ben Nye Cherry Red eyeshadow, MakeupGeek Gel Liner in Poison, Kryolan Film Blood, Ebelin "Beauty Blender" sponge dupe, Manhattan Supersize Mascara, Skindinavia makeup setting spray

Nailpolish I'm wearing:
Manhattan - Ma Marals #16

Just as an aside note, what the hell is with the Blogger picture uploader? Look at the ridiculous filter it added to my original image (same as above). It doesn't even look the same! (The one on the top I just linked from Facebook). It looks so washed out!! Anyone know if this is a new thing with Blogger? I've never seen such a huge difference before. Any help would be useful!

Update: Thanks for the tip, Eva!!! You have to go into your Google+ Settings, and in the options for Photos, make sure the box for "Auto Enhance images" (or something like that) is NOT checked! Wow, how ridiculous Google!! Thanks for never alerting me to that. That "enhancement" is completely unnecessary. Then your photos should look exactly as they are on your computer.

Tutorial: Queen of Hearts

This will my last Halloween video for this year. I hope you enjoyed this year's offering! If you missed any of them, you can see a review of them all here.

This last look is for a Queen of Hearts costume, but that's not a copy of the makeup from the Tim Burton movie, which I personally thought made the character look quite ugly. (I guess that's the point!) I wanted to make a more fun, cartoon-like inspired Queen.

For Halloween, I personally like dark and scary looks that still look beautiful and even delicate. This one I think fits the bill quite well!
