I love this bright and colorful Arab makeup look! It's not very traditional, but the colors are so pretty for summer. This look could be altered in numerous ways to make it more practical and wearable for those who aren't quite brave enough for such bold color. Let me know what you think! Also, do you like these voice-over type of videos? I have to say my voice is kind of robotic here, I was thinking of trying out another voice-over video in the future with a bit more casual narration. It's sometimes easier to do voice-overs for complicated looks like this so I can focus fully on what I'm doing, and worry about narrating afterward.

I LOVE IT !!!!! IS SO BEAUTIFUL !!!!
ReplyDeleteAILIN FROM ARGENTINA :)
Love it! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI love this look, but I don't think I would wear it outside personally.. Somehow, bold look makes me look dull everytime perhaps the way I apply my eyeshadows or something.. and am trying to find out: Does your eyelids get dry out after putting the highly pigmented eyeshadows? My eyelids tend to get very dry everytime after I apply pigmented eyeshadow.. and what would you recommend for dry eyelids.. I've tried a few eye creams, it still dry out my outer corner of my eyelids. Any ideas??
Anyway, you look gorgeous in this look, Julia!!! Awesome!!
Have you tried cream eyeshadows? You could use them alone or as a base for powder shadows - it may be less drying to your lids.
Deleteoh. my. god.
ReplyDeletepure genious.
It came out absolutely stunning. Great job Julia! this one competes with my other favorite look of yours the pinkish Arabic eyes video you did a while ago. You did an immaculate job with the gel eyeliner in this video :D
ReplyDeleteWOW.. AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this look.....so awesome
ReplyDeletewow...thats all i can say...that looks amazing...xoxo
ReplyDeleteThis is such a dramatic look, I just love it. The color shades are all extrememly flattering to you too and really make your green eyes pop. Absolutely fantastic.
ReplyDeletewoww.. love this look! very pretty!
ReplyDeletelove from Malaysia! =)
This is so gorgeous Julia! Perfect.
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE, LOVE you and this look! The voiceover however...is a little too serious for me.
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely stunning !!!
ReplyDeleteI love it and wouldn't change any of it!
Wow! That look is so dramatic but yet so stunning - I agree with Silvrpanthr - your green eyes just pop! Love this!
ReplyDeleteI like the colors :)
ReplyDeletepretty woman!

The voice-over is fine. It does exactly what a voice over is supposed to do: narrate. I would suggest being a bit more casual like you mentioned, but only because viewers love your laid back style. This look is very beautiful. I love the purple colored eye shadow. I love bright colors, and for lighter eyes this does wonders. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThis is very magazine worthy.
ReplyDeleteVogue, Vanity Fair... anything really.
Absolutely goooooorgeous :D
you are SO beautiful!
ReplyDeletei wish I can achieve this makeup look soon :)
The colors look soo pretty!!! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteI love it, so colorful ! great look. all your looks are just flawless and gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteAWESOME!
ReplyDeleteJulia, you rock girl! That's absolutely fab! Love it <3
ReplyDeletelove the colors! i don't think i would wear this out but maybe adapting it for a day out look. the colors are so pretty and bright. love love love.
ReplyDeleteWow, It looks really great, and you made it look so easy doing it in the tutorial!
ReplyDeletePersonally I prefer when you talk and do make up at the same time, but voice-over works fine too.
xoxo
I will definitevely try this one out. Love the colors. Your are the gurus of gurus!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletethis is soooo amazing! I need to get home soon so I can watch the tut!
ReplyDeletethis look is absolutely gorgeous, and you made it look so easy to do. i'm going to try it out right now! and i honestly do prefer your usual way of recording videos over the voice-over way. but if doing it this way makes it easier for you to concentrate on your makeup, then that's a fair exchange :-)
ReplyDeleteyou look so gorgeous. i always enjoy your youtube videos. last night my younger nieces and i were watching all of your halloween makeup tutorials. they were so amazed with the corpes bride tutorial :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors!!! love this look!! ❤
ReplyDeletewoow, i have no words to explain how much i adore this look, i have to try it!
ReplyDeleteYou are so beautiful, and with this colours.. more beautiful!
Great colour scheme. Simply stunning. I like how you did the voice-over with this video, but as you said it comes off a bit "robotic" which although is very professional and strictly instructional with no personality showing through. It would be better if you tried a more personal, casual approach for your next attempt at the voice-over next time. This may be a tad less professional, but it will connect to the viewers more :) Just my opinion at being better (as otherwise you were perfectly professional with the result!) A++++++++ ;)
ReplyDeleteAloha from Hawaii Julia!
ReplyDeleteLove LOVE Love the Arabian Peacock! But I found the voice-over bit to be a tad impersonal. What I love about your past videos is that it feels like you're talking directly to me, but this video made me feel like I was watching an infomercial. But I understand that for complicated looks you do need to concentrate.
If you are going to continue on with the voice overs (which I know could come in handy when you want to do one look but translate it in German/Swedish/English eetc...), may I suggest just relaxing and be yourself! You don't need to sound like you're reading from a script like a television reporter :)
Much love and aloha!
Erin aka Hawaiishoegirlie
Amazing combination of colors! I can easily see the girls here wearing that makeup and walking around in the malls. We are all about colors :)
ReplyDeleteI sent you two makeup requests Julia one of whch is Arabic- plssssssssssssssss do it
ReplyDeleteMasterful!!! What a beautiful look
ReplyDeleteAbout the voiceovers...I don't *think* I'd care for it no matter what, personally. It feels like an infomercial and I prefer you just being you. Still I understand why you'd want to do it, at least sometimes, and that this was a first try at something...maybe try one where you don't have a script? Just jot down whatever products you use and ramble along.
ReplyDeleteThis look is STUNNING, really beautiful!!! You always surprise and amaze me with your creativity!
ReplyDeleteYour voice - over reminded me so much of Michelle Phan (Ricebunny); I don't have anything against her, but I do like your casual self much, much more. So, if this kind of video is better and easier for you, casual MissChievous voice - over would be awesome!
This is jsut gorgeous ! You are a great artist, Julia !
ReplyDeleteHi Julia. I just found your blog last night and wanted to say #1, you have BEAUTIFUL eyes, I've never seen eyes the color yours are. #2, I'm really coveting the lipcolor you created with this look. Love it!

Wow! You really suit these colours. They make your eye colour stand out - I love it! The colours remind me of the colours in a peacock's tail. I'd love to create this look but I don't think I could pull it off, having very light blue eyes.

ReplyDeleteHi, I noticed the color cosmic violet was not mentioned in the tutorial. I wonder if it was used to blend out the no. 92 at the top. I hope Julia answers, but if she doesn't what do you guys think?
